Crystal created Enlightened Globetrekker Adventures: Adventures for the Body, Mind, and Soul in 2014 in order to encourage the accessibility of an inspirational lifestyle for all, internally and externally, focusing on travel, adventure, nature, grounded living, culture, equality, simplicity, humanitarian spirit, global understanding, and achieving and experiencing happiness, freedom, and dreams.
Originally from North Carolina, USA, Crystal, a cultural anthropologist, left the USA 11 years ago to travel the world, teach internationally, worldschool her daughter River, lead humanitarian projects, conduct research, and become an international writer and public figure known as The Enlightened Globetrekker. From this, she created Enlightened Globetrekker Adventures. Crystal loves outdoor adventure and global cultures. Crystal has lived in Tulum and Cozumel, Mexico, the Marshall Islands, Zanzibar, Tanzania, Africa, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal, and currently Mongolia!
Crystal plays an active role in directing Enlightened Globetrekker affairs, practices yoga daily, and raises daughters River and Zilly around the world. In 2015 Crystal made Nepal the base for Enlightened Globetrekker Adventures in response to the major earthquake that hit the country. Crystal wanted to restore tourism to the affected area and help support the beautiful people of Nepal in need. Since then, the company’s adventures have been focused in Nepal: cultural expeditions, trekking expeditions, and of course, Everest Basecamp!
Today, Crystal manages operations for Enlightened Globetrekker Adventures, writes for Inside Himalaya magazine, teaches internationally in Monglia, and is finishing a PhD in Global Education. She is very involved with the Tibetan refugee community and humanitarian projects that serve the Nepalese people. She enjoys connecting with all guests and guiding them on a path of cultural understanding, adventure, and happiness.
